Podarkes (died 431 BCE) was a Greek strongman who governed the island nation of Mykonos during the Peloponnesian War; during this conflict he allied Mykonos with with Athens' Delian League. He was also a member of the Cult of Kosmos, an collective who sought to hunt down the Misthios' family.^[1]

History

During the Peloponnesian War Podarkes ruled the island of Mykonos with an iron fist, which led to the people calling him "Podarkes the Cruel".

In 431 BCE the rebels of Mykonos employed the help of the Spartan mercenary Kassandra to end Podarkes' reign. Kassandra, holding a personal grudge against the man, hunted him down to a Mykonian tavern and ended his life.^[2]
