The Lost Bear Den was the accidental den of a single white bear on the shore of the region Sacred Lands of Artemis in Delos, Greece.
During the Peloponnesian War the merchant Sargon hired a group of smugglers led by Iola to transport the bear out of Arkadia. The seas were unfavorable, however, and Iola's ship crashed pon the shore. The bear escaped and mauled the ship's crew to death, with Iola only barely escaping to the Sanctuary of Apollo in the south.[1]
While tending to her injuries within the Sanctuary, Iola met the Spartan misthios Kassandra. She tasked the misthios to kill the bear, and Kassandra did so, learning what had happened along the way.[1]
