"Pirates aboard a ship known as Keto's Wrath have destroyed maritime trade since they arrived. No one knows where they came from, but there's drachmae for whoever stops their safe return home."
―Description of the ship on the message board[src]
The Keto's Wrath

Keto's Wrath was a pirate trireme which haunted the Aegean Sea during the 5th century BCE, disrupting maritime trade with its two other pirate vessels.

Rumors abounded that the ship's wood had been shaped by the gods themselves before they sent it to wreak havoc on the people and that it was helmed by sirens. Nonetheless, when Keto's Wrath crossed paths with the Adrestia during the Peloponnesian War, the Adrestia sailed away as the victor, commanded by the Spartan misthios Kassandra and captained by Barnabas, with the sail and finery of Keto's Wrath in tow.[1]

Behind the scenes

The name of the ship alludes to Keto, the primordial goddess of the sea in Greek mythology, whose very name is synonymous with 'sea monster'. It is not to be confused with Ketos, the sea monster from which the hero Perseus saved Andromeda.
