Concept art of Helheim

Helheim, also known as Hel, was one of the Nine Realms of the Isu Era. The area fell under the purview of Hel, daughter of Loki and Aletheia.

Helheim was considered as a possible sanctuary for Hel's older brother Fenrir, whose existence was seen as an ill-omen, but she informed their father that Fenrir would not be safe there so he was forced to look elsewhere.

Mythology

Helheim fell into human folklore as one of the aspects of the afterlife in Norse mythology.[1] It was ruled by the goddess Hel and was a realm of cold where the sick, old and criminals went when they died.[2]
