Dienekes (died 480 BCE) was a Spartan soldier who fought alongside King Leonidas at the Battle of Thermopylae.

Before the battle's end, Dienekes approached Leonidas as he overlooked the cliffs. His king was reminiscing about how he would have liked to have gone fishing with his son. Dienekes later joined Leonidas and the rest of the Spartans in defending Malis against the Achaemenid Empire, but ultimately perished in battle.[1]
