The Bay of Hades formed the southwestern region of Messenia, Greece. Featuring a varied landscape of a bay, hills and a small marshland, this region was dedicated to the Greek god of the underworld, Hades, and home to Mount Ithome Fort.
During the Peloponnesian War, the misthios Kassandra visited the bay, participating in the Battle of Pylos.[1]
