Barnabas was a Greek captain of the ship Adrestia active during the Peloponnesian War. An ex-soldier, he kept contacts through ancient Greece and provided information about mercenary contracts.

He befriended the Misthios sometime in 431 BCE, helping them to leave the island of Kephallonia.
