Triton is a Greek god and messenger of the sea. As son of Poseidon and Amphitrite, god and goddess of the sea, he is often depicted as a merman.
Triton wielded a conch shell with which he controlled the sea, creating or calming waves. Just like his father he possessed a trident.
Trivia
- During the Peloponnesian War the misthios Kassandra recovered Triton's legendary conch shell made from gold.[1]
