Rhea is a Greek Titan and a daughter of Uranus and Gaia. She was the sister and wife of the Titan Kronos, and the mother of his children Hestia, Demeter, Hera, Hades, Poseidon, and Zeus.
Her Anatolian equivalent is Kybele.
Influence[edit | edit source]
In 5th century, a small cave within Zeus' Playground region in Messara on the island of Krete was dedicated to Rhea. The cave was explored by the Spartan misthios Kassandra during the Peloponnesian War.[1]
