Patrai is a city in Greece which serves as the capital city of Achaia.

History

During the 5th century BCE, the city rose to become one of the principal shipyards of Greece thanks to copious raw materials. In this capacity, it was a major construction center for navies while it relied on other nearby cities such as Pellene and Dyme working in tandem to produce fleets.[1][2]
