Parnes Mountains is a forested mountain range north of Athens in Attika, Greece.
During the Peloponnesian War, the mountains housed Fort Phyle.[1]
In the mountains lived a maker of auloi, who was well-known enough for even a sailor like Barnabas to recognize their mark. This served as clue to the whereabouts of Leda, wife of Barnabas, when the Spartan misthios Kassandra and Barnabas set out to look for her due to the latter's lotus flower wine-inspired visions.[2]
