The Murex Dying Facility

The Murex Dyeing Facility was a settlement located near the Temple of Aphrodite on Kythera Island, Greece. The people of the settlement were dyers who specialized in the production and handling of the Tyrian purple from the murex shellfish.

During the Peloponnesian War, the misthios Kassandra explored the place.[1]
