Mayfair is a district in central London, England.
History
On 8 February 1788, French Templar Élise de la Serre and her new ward Hélène arrived at the Carroll's home in Mayfair in order to find former British Assassin Bernard Ruddock but was soon caught in a web when her former sword instructor and British Templar Frederick Weatherall saw her. In the next two days, Templars Mrs. Carroll and Peter Carroll assigned her to infiltrate as a maid to Jennifer Scott, sister of former Grand Master of the Colonial Rite Haytham Kenway and daughter of Master Assassin Edward Kenway. Meanwhile, they promised to look for Ruddock.[1]
Within two months, on 2 April 1788, Élise and her ward left the Carroll's home and traveled to Queen Anne's Square, London to find Haytham Kenway's letters at Scott's home. Despite some hostilities, both women succeeded in six days as Scott gave Élise the letters before providing their ride back to Mayfair. Upon arrival, they met with Mr. Carroll and Weatherhall, who found Ruddock's location. Sending Hélène towards Dover and away from her, Élise went to the tavern and met with a man who told her of his alias and room upstairs. Upon their confrontation, Élise gave her mother's assailant an escape while the Carrolls, their men, and Weatherhall found her alone.[1]
Surrounded, Élise disclosed that she succeeded in her mission successfully and gave them the letters before telling them that Haytham argued for an end to the war against the Assassins. However, the Carrolls' burnt the letters and commissioned Élise's death. Respectfully, they had their daughter May Carroll fight Élise in a duel. However, it was short as Élise stabbed May in the back of her throat, stunning her parents. However, while she and Weatherhall took care of the Carroll's men, the Templars fled the Carroll's but not before Mrs. Carroll shot Weatherhall in the leg. Grabbing a carriage, Élise drove her and her protector towards Dover in six hours.[1]
In 1861, Pierrette Arnaud surveilled the area, especially the Brown's Hotel, in order to meet and question the Countess Konstanze von Visler about any information about Oscar Kane, the Magus. However, as she descended from a chimney, she was grabbed and knocked unconscious by the countess' bodyguard, Art Hennighan.[2]
