Kalydonian Boar

The Kalydonian Boar was a legendary boar which inhabited the northwest region of Phokis, Greece, in the Sacred Lands of Apollo.

In 431 BCE, the leader of the Daughters of Artemis, Daphnae, tasked the Spartan misthios Kassandra with hunting down the beast. When she defeated the beast, Kassandra recovered its pelt and handed it to Daphnae as proof of her success.[1]
