Jean-Baptise Barbeau was a member of the French Brotherhood of Assassins who was based in Paris alongside Mary Fitzpatrick and Sami Zidane under Michel Moulin.

Amongst the brotherhood, he was known for being the explosives expert and provided the British Assassin Simeon Price with tools when he infiltrated Prussia in an attempt to sabotage the Germans operations and prevent war in 1870.[1]

Later in 1889, Barbeau provided dynamite to the Assassins when they plot an attempt to destroy the Eiffel Tower during their confrontation with the Templar Konstanze von Visler.[2]
