Iaira was a pirate who served under Xenia during the 5th century BCE.
Sometime during the Peloponnesian War, Iaira and her fellow pirates Anaximander, Galateia and Kittos were attacked by a faction of soldiers near Pellene while escorting a prized coffer belonging to Xenia. Their ship were sunk and the pirates, with the exception of Galateia who escaped, were captured and held at the Olouros Fortress in Achaia.[1]
Later on, Iaira and the pirates were freed by the misthios Kassandra, whom Xenia sent to recover the stolen coffer.[1]
