Foundry of Hephaistos is a volcanic island located east off the coast of Argolis, Greece. The tomb of the Spartan and Messenian Queen Gorgophone was located beneath the island.
During the Peloponnesian War the misthios Kassandra was tasked with a test of courage by a mysterious woman, the test involved jumping from the highest point on the island, leading to its very depths, in order to find a helmet. Exploring further, Kassandra found a tomb dedicated to the smithing god. Using a key she had acquired earlier, Kassandra gained entry to Gorgophone's tomb and retrieved the Queen's helmet for the mysterious woman. Exiting the tomb she searched the depths and found an opening to escape from, after which she returned to the mainland. [1]
