The Delian League was an association of Greek poleis–city-states–aligned with Athens leading up to, and during, the Peloponnesian War. Many of the League's more influential and powerful leaders were members of the Cult of Kosmos.

Centered in Attika, Athens' heavy-handed dominance of its fellow League members and it rising power eventually led to the outbreak of war with Sparta's Peloponnesian League in 431 BCE.^[1]
