Aikaterine was an Athenian hetaera who served at the House of Aphrodite.
In around 424 BCE, Aikaterine was the 'muse' of the moment for the actor Thespis. Due to this relationship, her life was threatened by the Commander Rhexenor, as she was involved in Aristophanes' plot to tarnish the reputation of the Athenian general Kleon.[1]
