Cave of Mt. Zas was a cavern located on Mt. Zas in Zeus' Cove on Naxos Island, Greece.
The cave was one of the many places on Naxos Island that was said to have been important in the youth of the god Zeus.[1]
During the Peloponnesian War the Spartan misthios Kassandra explored the cave, finding one of the Ainigmata Ostraka in the shrine within the cave.[2] She also discovered Parian soldiers, as well as guards loyal to the Cult of Kosmos, planning to kill the leader of Naxos, Phoenix.[3]
The shrine within the depths of the cave had in addition to a statue of the god Zeus, also statues of lions and curious architecture.[1]
Trivia
- In the center of the shrine, there's an inactive Isu platform that looks similar to those seen in the vaults of Assassin's Creed: Origins and also at the Gateway to the Lost City.
