Mikhail Alexandrovich Bakunin (1814 – 1876) was a Russian revolutionary and a major influential figure of the anarchist, revolutionary socialist, social anarchist, and collectivist anarchist traditions.

Bakunin moved to Switzerland in 1867 after a few decades of participating in various uprisings across Europe and exile to Siberia. There, he was guided by the Assassin Henri Escoffier as he trained his group of revolutionaries.[1]
