"When I grow up, I want to fight in the arena! My father could have killed that man alone! Do you have a wife? You're old, you should have a wife."
―Zalika to Bayek, 47 BCE.[src]-[m]

Zalika (born 52 BCE) was the daughter of the gladiator Kosey and his wife Hesper, living near a lake in the Green Mountains of Cyrenaica.

Biography[edit | edit source]

Zalika was born sometime during Kosey's time in the services of his employer Thanasis. Seeking to be free of the gladiator life and spend time with his family, Kosey devised a plan with a band of bandits in the mountains, and managed to escape to meet his family by the lake. While playing by the lake, Zalika met the Medjay Bayek who came looking for her father on behalf of Thanasis. Her father, thinking she was in danger, immediately attacked Bayek, asking Zalika to run away. The situation was quickly defused with the help of Hesper, allowing the two to have a proper conversation. While Zalika and her family remained, Bayek offered to officially free Kosey from Thanasis' employ at the Gladiator Arena in Cyrene.[1]

In Bayek's absence, Thanasis was able to locate Kosey and his family. Zalika and Hesper were held captive by the lantista's guards while Kosey himself was brought infront of the lanista. Bayek's arrival, however, was able to turn the tides. The Medjay and Kosey eliminated Thanasis and his guards, freeing both Zalika and Hesper, bringing peace to their family once and for all.[1]
