The Quadrangle of the Persians was the southwest region of the Harbiyah distrct of Baghdad that surrounded the northern part of the Round City. Notable landmarks in the region included the Great Mosque of al-Mansur and the Damascus Gate Prison, where the Zanj rebel leader Ali ibn Muhammad was once held.[1]
