Lake of Tears

The Lake of Tears was a lake located in Green Mountains region of Cyrenaica. It sprang forth from a natural spring, and near the area, Romans had set up a hunting camp around the ruins of a shrine dedicated to Cyrene in the 1st century BCE.

In 47 BCE, the the Medjay Bayek of Siwa visited the place, after the local Oracle of Apollo told him to look for the Halo of the Huntress Cyrene at the Lake of Tears, and he did so.[1]

On the walls of the shrine, the story of Apollo and Cyrene was displayed.[1]
