The quarry south of the pyramids.

The Depleted Quarry Hideout was a bandit hideout south of the Giza market place in Egypt during the 1st century BCE.

In 48 BCE, some dissatisfied 'customers' of Mered the merchant presumably stole Mered's horse and took it to the quarry. Mered asked the Medjay Bayek of Siwa to retrieve the steed in return for information on the member of the Order of the Ancients member known as The Hyena.[1]

Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • According to a note found at the hideout, Babaef was the leader of this hideout and a group of his bandits also occupied the nearby Lost Village. The note reads:
"Babaef, we took the village. I know you don't agree, but Ptolemy's Phylakitai don't care about backwater locations and it's a nice point to launch a raid from. Send me men I will make good use of them."
