"Dolerite volcanic hills give the name to the dramatic Black Desert."
―Description.[src]
Black Desert

The Black Desert is a mountainous desert region located in Egypt, characterized by its dolerite volcanic hills, located south of Siwa and west of Faiyum. The tomb of the Egyptian nomarch Tefibi III was located in the southern part of the region and was situated atop an Isu vault.

Around 48 BCE, the Medjay Bayek of Siwa explored the tomb, gaining access to the vault below. There, he activated an Isu pedestal and witnessed a recording made by precursor messenger.[1]
