Skadi, known as the Mistress of the Frozen Mountains, was an Isu and the goddess of skiing, bowhunting, winter and mountains in Norse mythology.
Mythology
Skadi was the daughter of Þjazi. She was said to be responsible for the serpent that who's venom dropped unto Loki while he is bound to a rock by the other gods with the innards of his son Narfi.
Biography
Skadi was the wife of Njörðr until they disagreed about where they should live.[1] Havi found a note pinned to the mast of a shipwreck, written by Skadi to Njörðr. It explained that, whilst Njörðr wanted to live in Asgard, Skadi returned to Jötunheimr as she wanted to stay there. The note also mentions Skadi loved his feet, but did not think he'd meet the Jötnar's measure of manhood.[2]
