Poseidon
- "Poseidon, god of the ocean. Thank you for watching over the Adrestia."
- ―Misthios Kassandra, beholding a statue of the god, around 431 BCE

Poseidon is a Greek god of the sea, horses and earthquake, whose Roman counterpart is Neptune. He is regarded as one of the Twelve Olympians, the major deities of the Greek pantheon. He is also the brother of Zeus and Hades. In Greek mythology, Poseidon was also said, with the nymph Keroessa, to have fathered Byzas, the founder of Byzantium, which later came to be known as Constantinople.[1] Amphitrite, wife of Poseidon and queen of the sea, birthed his other son Triton, who had a conch shell to control the sea.
In 48 BCE, Poseidon was mentioned by Phoxidas during his time defending the Egyptian seas with Aya.[2]
