Acanthos of Sparta

Acanthos of Sparta was a Spartan athlete who lived during the 8th century BCE.

Acanthos won the diaulos and the dolichos races in the Olympic Games of 720 BCE and was known for being the first to practice sports naked, a practice that was soon widely adopted.^[1]
