Preosts were ranking Order of the Ancients members who composed four of the five branches of the organization. Alongside their fellow rank, Palatinus, Preosts held at least one spot within every branch, excluding the Wardens of Relics. In the other four branches, the preosts directly followed their own Maegester. In the 870s, every preost in the Order was hunted down and assassinated by the Viking shieldmaiden Eivor Varinsdottir and then their medallions were taken and given to Hidden Ones member, Hytham.[1] From the Order's hierarchy system during this time, the rank "Preost" seems to have an equal footing to the rank "Palatinus."
Known Preosts
Behind the Scenes
"Preost" is an Old English word meaning "Priest." Ironically, this is during the Anglo-Saxon mission in history, but instead of spreading the beliefs of Christianity, the Order's mission was to spread the beliefs of the true Gods, also known as the "Ancients Ones."
