The Herat Temple is an Isu temple located beneath the Herat Citadel in Herat, Afghanistan.
History
The temple was first discovered by Alexander the Great around 330 BCE, who subsequently built the Herat Citadel atop its remains. It was later speculated that the knowledge and power inside the temple had somehow helped Alexander in his conquests, allowing him to become an undefeated military commander.[1]
In 1841, the temple was discovered by the British Rite of the Templar Order under the command of Master Templar William Sleeman, after he used the Koh-i-Noor in conjunction with a Precursor box to project a holographic map marked with various temple locations across the Earth.[2] The site was subsequently infiltrated by both the Templars and the Indian Assassin Arbaaz Mir, who was captured by Sleeman before he could activate the temple's pedestal.[1]
