The Desert Waterfalls Hideout was a bandit camp used by the Son of Ra's followers. It was situated at the waterfalls of the White Desert Oasis in Egypt. South of it was the bandits' other hideout, and between Dionysias and the Oasis another, set into the ruins of an old temple of the crocodile-god Sobek. The bandits made the hideout their home, making a map of the local area and painting their points of interest on it.[1]
History[edit | edit source]
In 48 BCE, the bandits kidnapped a number of farmers from Dionysias and held them in their waterfalls hideout. Among those they took were Rahotep, Rahotep's father, Addaya, and Turo. Rahotep and Addaya managed to escape, though the latter was driven insane over the course of the ordeal and his rantings fed rumors of demons and monsters in the area. Sometime later, the Medjay Bayek of Siwa met Addaya, and the man's ranting led the Medjay to Rahotep, who explained his predicament. Together, they sought to save what remained of the villagers. Bayek infiltrated the Desert Waterfalls Hideout, freed the Dionysiotes, and escorted them outside the camp, where Rahotep greeted them, to Turo's delight.[2]
