Elis City was an ancient Greek polis and the capital of the region of Elis in the Peloponnese. One of the largest cities in all of Peloponnese due to a number of small villages joining together, Elis' main claim to fame was the nearby Sanctuary of Olympia.[1]
During the Peloponnesian War, the city was visited by the Spartan misthios Kassandra.[2]
