Vili was an Isu and one of the Æsir in Norse mythology.
Mythology[edit | edit source]
Vili was the second oldest brother to Vé and Odin and they were sons of the siblings Bestla and Borr. They became the first of the Æsir, and when the first human couple, Ask and Embla, was created by the gods, Vili gifted them wit and the sense of touch.[1]
Biography[edit | edit source]
When Vili, Vé and Odin came across the primordial Ymir, they murdered him, which took a long time due to his huge body.[2] Details about Ymir's murder were later written down and kept in the central vault in Jötunheimr.[3]
