"Interview Passed" userbox

I believe I showed you this yesterday, but I don't remember you giving any definitive views on it. :P
It's slightly pointless I know, but at the moment one's passing of their interview seems to feel slightly anticlimactic... So this is just to give them something to make the interviewee feel like they've really achieved something, I guess.
I have confirmation from Rayne, Vatsa, Blaidd, Sima and several other people who I can't quite recall, that they're alright with it, and War made the question mark image you see on the left, so I'm assuming he's also cool with it. All that remains is the go-ahead from one man... That's right, Commander, it's you!! :O

I thank you for your kind welcome, but not so the Templar symbol. also if i could trouble you, i have a few questions. 1) i would like to know of any really important information/protocols/creed that i should know about. 2) would you be able to make me a custom signature with (if possible) the Assassin symbol in it. and 3) my friend .50CalAssassin (his wiki username) are making a machinima using AC Brotherhood or Revelations, would it be advisable to advertise it here and/or us the name Assassin's Creed in the title.

Hey! Sorry for the delayed response. It's been kinda hectic at the ME Wiki lately. I'm doing pretty good, thanks. How've you been? It's been a little while since I've been to the AC Wiki, and I must say, it looks amazing! This skin you've got is just phenomenal. Now, to business...

First, thanks for thinking of our little ME Wiki. I'd be thrilled to have the Mass Effect Wiki listed as an Affiliate of the Assassin's Creed Wiki. It's funny you asked when you did. We're actually in the early stages of a discussion on whether or not to establish a partnership with a Mass Effect fan site (n7academy.com), so we're working on how to go about this. If it ends up going anywhere (or even if it doesn't), I'd be more than willing to ask the community on the ME Wiki if they'd like to put up a link to your wiki, as you are doing here. We put things like this up for discussion and voting on the ME Wiki, so I can't guarantee anything, but I don't think there will be any problem getting our people on board with it. So yeah, feel free to add us as an Affiliated Wiki! We would be honored to be affiliated with your fine site. I definitely like this idea. I especially like the notion of a group partnership between the three wikis. I'll bring it up to the community and see what they have to say about it. I think it should get a pretty good reception. I'll also definitely talk to Tierrie about establishing a relationship with the DA Wiki too. You make some excellent points, and as three of the bigger and more established wikis in the RPG video game field, focused on three of the top franchises, I think we'll all stand to benefit. Recent Wiki Entry Suggestion

Hey there Cello. I normally like to look over the Recent Wiki Entry to check through the history of pages quickly and see if there is something I can do to improve those articles, and an idea came to me. I thought it would be kind of cool if a person could click on where it says "Summary" or "Edited the section" and be linked to the page's history, or maybe to the gallery when photos are added.

Better yet, it would be convenient if there was a link to the Recent Wiki Entry on the main page, because I have to go through the Newest Articles and then to the list of edits made at the side of the page in order to get to it.

I figured that I should ask you, because I wasn't sure on who to go to, but if it was implemented, it would be greatly appreciated.

Affiliate program and portal

You have really taken the portal to the next step and it looks amazing!. If you ever find yourself constrained by the portal in some what, or that you think it should be able to do something more, I can help you code it in.

New Blog

I have created a new blog called 'they were deleted'. Before you rush over to delete it, hear me out. This blog is completely void of any comments as of yet but l am expecting some soon. Important (Depending on you) Found a new Gamescon Demo for ACR

Hello Director, Chief, Maestro and Mentore.

A new gameplay demo of AC: Revelations just in yesterday. Not trailer. An actual gamplay demo featuring Ezio and Altair. Bald Templar guy and the Crusader is in it as well. It seemed essential as so u cud post it along with the gamescon trailer.

As to any part of this video can be explained, I think it should only be the bombs ( as it is finally explained how they're customizable) The current customization Bombs page sorta has a deletion tag, so maybe I could be able to add more info from this. If not, maybe the more senior guys could do it. (Overall for this paragraph is only my opinion so if I'm not saying the things I'm supposed to I'm sorry)

He did not make the Wiki in general, he found it all discarded and in ruins, it was filled with Stubs and pages in need of Revamps. He built it up over time and people began to visit, he then created the Istruttorium (Staff) which maintains order and balance in the AC Wiki. So under technicality "No" he did not. But he did make it what it is today and that's the important things. He did it because of his Love for the Series. ^_^ Nanu Nanu and Happy Editing. Major Edit

What defines a major edit, because I am at 150 and when i get to 250 would like to sign up as an apprentice, but would like to know what a major edit is first so I can figure out what I should do in the mean-time. I've created a few pages, albeit Vatsa has taken a few of them down for information that is not from an official Ubisoft release, but I feel like I could make a major edit if I knew exactly what to do. Thank You. Also, I was given a warning about improper use by Rayne, because I was voting on the featured articles, not knowing it was a staff only page (wasn't 100% clear it was, but still hinted, so my bad), and am hoping that won't affect me applying for an apprenticeship in the future. Hi D. Cello, sorry to bother you but I have some news. I might still be overcoming the shock/excitement of it but it's awesome news to me and I thought I'd share. Anyways, just want to let you know that Raphael Lacoste was on the wiki a few hours ago and made amendments to his page and uploaded some of his art work. He spoke to both myself and Vatsa1708 (briefly and only to do with the corrections to his page). I was skeptical at first but it really was him. (Sorry if this message comes out screwy as I am on my phone) Well he said it was him after a few edits (all the edits were the same, even though myself and Vatsa1708 changed them back etc and after a while he made an actual user account to explain why etc) so I checked the ip address (as I said I got curious and wanted to make sure that it wasn't some anon messing with me.. not stalkerish at all :P) anyways, it matches the same basestation that covers the Ottowa-Montreal region and upon further investigation (as I am connected to most of the facebook fanpages even remotely related to the AC series) I saw that he linked (or more accurately liked the link on his wall) for the Assassin's Creed Wiki on his artist page on facebook at roughly the same time. Someone keeps reversing the updates on Minerva's article

Hello dear Cello, I am SilentResident, :D I am Greek and I love the Italians!!! :D Una Faccia Una Razza we say, hehe. I am just posting here as I dunno where to ask for his help/advice with an edit-reversion-edit-reversion issue emerged in Minerva's article in the Wiki. Basically there is a guy who prevents us from adding or editing the goddess Minerva's page. I don't know why he became so... protective of that page...

I was just adding Minerva's olympian name Athina next to her Ertruscan names as she was known under that name in mount Olympus, (Minerva mentioned of Olympus in Assassin's Creed II and though it won't harm to add her Olympian name on the article, as she was known with multiple names - including the olympian name Athena) but dunno why, the guy keeps constantly reversing the edits on the page. :S

Not only this was enough, but also he keeps undoing/reversing the edits on the Trivia section as well. For this reason I added info/explaination about my updates on Minerva's Talk Page just in case. But he leaves no comment for his reasons of the reversions and he seems to ignore the Talk page as well. Perhaps I am doing something wrong? SilentResident3 12:28, August 26, 2011 (UTC)

Me and another contributor had good reasons to undo the edits. Minerva is never called Athena in the AC Universe, and thus we shouldn't include her name on the ACWiki. It is very likely they are the same person, but it hasn't been stated officially. Just thought I should let you know. (And we've explained this to SilentResident3 as well). Wait... Minerva didn't mentioned her link to the Oympian Gods? Minerva and Athena is one and the same, and she was known as Athena in mount Olympus. If we can use the full name of Leonardo Da Vinci (Leonardo di ser Piero da Vinci in the Wiki, Leonardo Da Vinci in game) or Nicolo Machiavelli (Niccolò di Bernardo dei Machiavelli in the Wiki, Nicolo Machiavelli in game), then why not the names of Minerva? -_- SilentResident3 12:38, August 26, 2011 (UTC)

New to this

Hi I am a new member. How do I add and create a topic in the forums. And I noticed another thing, i was looking at the wiki and i want to change on thing about ezio's robes. It said that his master robe didn't have a cape but in the e3 trailer it clearly did but it was dropped before he fought. also i do not know how to sign my name rotionpotion

On gameplay trailers, he dont have a cape -- that cape was jsut used for travel and not part of his outfit.

well even if it was just for travels it was still part of his outfit. Its kind of obvious that he lost it when he was captured.

You're not getting the point,the main section explains what Ezio's supposed to wear in-game, and therefore it doesn't count,Ezio decided he was lazy to pick the cape back up when he returned to Masyaf later onso it's no part of hs apparel. Anyway, I've added that point to the page as a more trivial fact, as so it isn't misleading. Btw, as mentioned by the Chief above, sign ur posts with 4 of these ~ squiggly things. Cheers

Seals of Altair

Hello D, Cello, (that rhymes!) I was reading the constantinople page on the wiki when I saw that is said "Around 1209, the city was visited by the Grand Master of the Assassin Order, Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad. During his time there, he hid five seals that, when brought together, would unlock the inner sanctum of the fortress of Masyaf."

And then I went on to the Seals of Altair and it said "In 1257, Altaïr passed the seals onto Niccolò Polo along with the Codex during Masyaf's fall, in hopes he would be able to hide them for future generations. Niccolò succeeded and hid the five seals in the city of Constantinople."

So which one is the correct one? because they both seem to be contradicting the other text.

number of edits

I came on today for the first time since monday, and I noticed that my number of edits was 186. On monday it was 209. I know its not alot, but when i'm trying to get to 300, a loss of 23 edits kinda hurts that goal. Was there a wiki edit that might have possibly done that? Editing Issue

Master D. Cello,

I'm experiencing a problem with recent editing. I had been working on creating several new pages for WikiProjects: Memories about the Assassin's Tombs. After I had published them, I relaized that somehow I had not been signed into my user profile (perhaps because I had stepped away for a few hours?) Anyway, these contributions to the Wiki now do not show up under my profile's contributions. Is there anything that can be done to fix this? Please let me know. Comments and Bedges

Hello Cello, I'd like you to fix the Comment browsing engine... thing. I happen to see lots of links in the comments of any page, and normally they have a big number of lists. Just for an example: I am in page 3 in the Today's News page, I see a link there, I watch the link and come back to the comment list, and I come back to the 1st page, what is normally a bit bad. I don't know who is in charge of these things, but, I'd like to know if somebody could fix it.

Now the bedges, how can I watch them? I mean the name, what do they represent? I know there are 2 lucky bedges of edits, but I can't read the names now, I could in the past, but now tho.

And a final, I noticed, and how could I not notice it XD, your comments are as holy as the Pope's Amimus light, they shine and everything! But I think Sima would like one too, maybe different one, another color maybe, maybe even a different comment color for every staff class, like The Supreem Cello has a white animus color comment, Sima has a ... something color, then the others below your rank, but, still staff members, have a different one, and on and on. Because we usually not see who writes the comments, we don't look at the names, just on what they have written, so a difference of color is a really good idea I think.

Hey. To be honest, i can barely understand what you wrote XD but regarding blog comments, the engine is better brought to the attention of Wikia pc guys. About the badgs, jsut hover your mouse cursor over any of them and info will appear.

A major edit

I would like to ask the definition (lol) of a major edit. I have found that to be an apprentice you'll need to make such edit on a page. Does that include actually making a page or something? Hey Cello, I noticed you posted a new blog recently, nice work. That said, I also spotted that you made mention that the individual Desmond speaks with in his particular video is Subject 16. Whilst this is more than likely the case, there is nothing in the video to suggest unquestionably that this si the case; for all we know, it might be a representation of William M., who somehow managed to enter the Animus. A lot of people have subsequently added an image of this individual to the Subject 16 article, and I've been forced to revert it each time (three so far, with three warnings given). PLease may I ask that you change the wording on your blog, so that people don't continue to add unsourced, speculative garbage to the article. Ezio Not Grand Master of Assassin Order

Hey D.Cello, I was listening to an Escoblade interview with Darby McDevitt and Falko Poiker about the AC: Revelations and near the end of it he asked them about Ezio being the Grand Master Assassin. Darby said that he's not the Grand Master at around 20:00 in the video and the Mentor was a different title/rank than to the Grand Master. So should Ezio still be shown as the Grand Master in the wiki pages or should it stay the same?

Wiki Navigation

Hello again D. Cello. As I'm currently pondering bringing something up on the ME Wiki, I have found that our two affiliated wikis are using the very system that I want to bring up. When Wikia introduced the expanded Navigation system in October, I saw that it was implemented on several wikis, and I was hoping to get some feedback from you, and/or the other admins, here about how effective it is, how well it works, and has it really helped your wiki. Thanks in advance.

AC3 news for a new blog?

Hey Cello, Pedgz found some Assassin's Creed III news and I thought that you might like to know and that you could put in a blog post or something.

Project McCall/AC Wiki Alliance

Greetings D. Cello; it is I, Foreborn the charismatic, strong, humble leader of Project McCall. We've been back to editing at the Wiki for almost a month now, and my associate and fellow admin 11Morey has given agreeance (<Yes that really is a word) to Project McCall allying with the AC Wiki. As soon as everything's implemented, or about to be, I'll set up a blog post at PM announcing it. I'm guessing I also need to add a link underneath the AC wiki banner to PM's homepage, as you have done on yours with all the other wikis you're partnered with. Hm, don't s'pose you'd know how to do that? As I think I've said before, in some administrative areas I'm still rather inexperienced...

A while back I was astonished to learn that British English does not use the letter 'Z' (a letter which I now assume is exclusive to the Americas' English), instead using the letter 'S'. I'm pretty sure Cello is Italian, with Carnevale being an Italian festival. Also, being British myself, the British alphabet does in fact have the letter Z (who'd have thought?) but where you use it in words such as "utilize", we change the z to an s (e.g. "utilise"). Assassin Order

Hey, do you think that the "Assassins" page should be renamed to "Assassin Order"? My reasoning is that stating the headline being "Assassins", it's technically redirecting to the human occupation of assassins. "Assassin Order" states the organization between assassins in periods of times, being the order of assassins. So do you think "Assassin Order" should be more appropriate? God in the AC series?

The Assassin's Creed series never says that God didn't exist. If you play the ending of Brotherhood where Desmond is in the Santa Maria Aracoeli, Juno confirms the existance of higher entity who has "endless stamina" and "everlasting reach" who they try to "feign left when he strikes right" and whatnot. From this I understand that God created TOWCB and TOWCB created us, therefore God indirectly created us. Of course this is all just a theory.

Because the First Civilization were the ones to alter humanity's path of evolution to be closer to their own, Eden was shown to be a First Civilization city, but yet Minerva said that they weren't gods, but humanity saw them as gods because it was the only way to make up for their technology and lifespan otherwise. The TWCB never said they were mortal though, as Juno's message towards the end of Brotherhood states how they had to preserve their knowledge somehow, and humanity was the best bet they had, even though they shouldn't have, as she mentions "We should have left you as you were!" Three things to point out:

1. TOWCB are obviously mortal. They died during the Disaster and during the war meaning they could be killed. The somehow developed the scince of psionics enough so that they could preserve their consciousness to deliver theri messages after death but they were definitly dead.

2. We currnetly possess the basic technology to alter evolution. George W. Bush just made it illegal.

3. They understood the idea of a deity therefore they must have or had a deity sometime during their existance.

Out of all three of those points, only the third one can be considered to be valid enough to debate the theory of God in the AC series, but if the TWCB did mention that humanity perceived them to be gods, it isn't unlikely to believe that the humans actually said the word "god" and "deity" to them. Also, considering they had to breed with humans to try and preserve their race, they could have also come into contact with humanity's beliefs.

In regards to the creationism approach, the Truth files in AC2 shows Adam and Eve with an Apple of Eden, and the Lost Archive DLC for Revelations has a snippit where Adam and Eve break the bonds of slavery that the TWCB had over them by touching the Piece of Eden, so that means that Adam and Eve weren't created through a god, but could have come into existance through the TWCB's intervention.

Of course God didn't creat humans (In accordance to the game, I'm a monothiest and I want to go to heaven). The game depicts livinig organisms as simply collective masses of self sustaining chemical reactions. If we use this definition then yes the TWCB are completely responsible for humanity's creation and existance. BUT the fact they were able to interbreed with humans means that they have to have made humans extremely similar to themselves to the point where we have to be from the same Genus. Humans are mortal (proof? shoot urself in the brain and call me to share the results) therefore its pretty safe to assume that the TWCB were just as mortal. The psionic technology they possessed may have been enough to fool earlier human civilizations that they were immortal raising them to the level of divinity. An example of psionics is what the entire movie (AVATAR) was based on, the transfer of consciousness from a body to another body or machine, in this case, the POE.

And Juno couldn't have been refering to Death. It's just too much of a literary personification (and I say this as an arabic speaker. If you knew arabic you'd know what I'm talking about). Saying that they could "feign left when [Death] strikes right" automaticly gives the notion that she isn't talking about Death but the actual "Death Dealer" be it a God an Angel a Spirit, whatever.

Hey there Cello, one thing I don't get is why E3 has to be an article on the Wiki. It's practically a copy and paste from Wikipedia, and in that case, wouldn't it make more sense to link externally to its Wikipedia page?

We deal with this kind of stuff daily, and this user in specific has angried 2 staff members before he got to me -- my action might not have been subtle, but it sure as hell wasn't uncalled for. Slate and Teller are right. I don't appreciate being told what to do on the wiki I lead. My leadership constantly steps outsides the "official" or "formal" when it needs -- I care more about efficiency and making my crew happy than following a arbitrary set of rules. Don't tell me how to treat people that disrupt the functioning of the wiki I have worked so hard to make what it is -- I don't deserve to witshtand idiots, nor do any of the dozens of great editors and persons that help make this place what it is. -- D. Your "leadership" position means you should always make sure to communicate in a way that is acceptable and simply kind. It doesn't grant you the rights to do whatever you want and then just brush off any criticism by telling people that you don't deserve this, don't want to be told that, and don't think you may need to be reminded of a few basic communication protocols. For someone who's in a "leader" position, you sure don't react to criticism (which is inevitable - admins will get criticised from time to time) well. And you just went and indirectly called him an idiot again. Nice job.

I'm also confused about your argument pertaining to "efficiency" - what exactly is stopping you being "efficient" and "respectful" at the same time? The efficiency comment was meant to illustrate the reason why formal rules don't always apply -- but that's beside the point. No criticism was made here -- you simply strode into my home and told me how to behave, and I will not take kindly to that. I will not apologize, nor refrain of calling someone idiot or ignorant if I feel they are so. As expressed above by one of the involved, he also believes the guy was an idiot in attitude. I'm not a politician -- I won't hide my oppinions because of appearances -- I am honest, sincere and forthcoming about my judgements and oppinions. The guy presented trouble and refused to listen to reason after several respectable attempts, and for that, he behaved like a idiot -- I merely did what my job entails, and I agree that I did so without any subtlety. If a less-agressive way would have wielded better results, I would have pursued that path. Unfortunely, this wasn't the case here. I did not called him a idiot because "I am in a admin/bureaucraut position" or because "I judge him to be a lesser being than me" -- I did it because it's what I think. Yes, you are right that formal rules need not always apply, but only when the outcome will be better than if they had to be applied. You seem to be aware of that, but appear to have misjudged the situation - it is not as if being nice to the guy would have caused anything bad to happen. Basically what I'm trying to say is that it's always useful to be a nice guy even when it means going out of your way. And even to people who might not necessarily deserve it. AC Fanon

Hey there Cello, just a quick query.

Wouldn't it be better to create subcategories such as "ACFanon:Artwork" (already exists as FanArts) "ACFanon:Stories" (or FanFiction) and "ACFanon:Media" to replace the search bar on the Fanon Home page? I figure that using the search bar would be quite a shot in the dark at finding something, and having the categories would allow someone to click a link and be directed somewhere more specialized to what they're looking for? Cheevo Archive Wiki Affiliation Request

Hi D. Cello,

I am here on behalf of the Cheevo Archive Wiki in order to make a request of the AC Wiki.

Firstly, I guess I should give you a rundown on exactly what Cheevo Archive Wiki is. Well basically it is a wiki that was made in order to provide easily accessible guides to Video Game (such as Assassins Creed) achievements/trophies. The wiki was formed on February 28th 2012 and so far is going pretty well. We were approved of Wiki Spotlight on the 22nd of March and are now working on getting some partnerships going with other affiliated Video Gaming wiki's such as this one.

So now the big question, would the AC Wiki be interested in forming some kind of affiliation/partnership? We would add a link to the AC wiki on our main page and add the AC Wiki to our list of Affiliated Wikis (not created yet). We believe the partnership could be mutually beneficial.

I would be interested in hearing your thoughts on this request.

Question - Background Image

Hi D. Cello,

Its me again, from the Cheevo Archive Wiki and I have a question to ask you, How does the Assassins Creed Wiki have such a high resolution background image? When we try to upload an image like yours, it is way to large (over 150 kb). But if we try to compress it, we lose too much quality.

AC Timeline error? (AC: Bloodlines)

There is information that events from AC: Bloodlines take place between 1191 and 1193. Where is this information from? In the game there is only information that events of AC: Bloodlines start month after ending of AC1. There is no information about 1191 and 1193. Could you write source?

Promotion Opportunity

Greetings D. Cello,

This is Mike from the Community Development team here at Wikia. I'm reaching out to you and the other Assassin's Creed admins today because we've recently been talking with Ubisoft in an effort to bring (even more) much deserved attention to your outstanding community. As part of these conversations, Ubisoft is interested in spotlighting your community and celebrating their upcoming trailer for Assassin's Creed: Victory by promoting it on your wiki.

Usually this includes a small promotion module on the mainpage and a relevant article page. We would of course design it with the wiki in mind, put it up, take it down and all that. Ideally, it would let fans watch the trailer right here, and then check out more of the game's characters and lore across the wiki. We'd love to be able to work closely with yourselves and Ubisoft to get you and your editors special access to the upcoming game, merch, information/interview opportunities, and more.

Is this something that you think is possible? We'd leave the promotion up a few weeks to make sure everyone sees it, and then take it down once it's run its course. Please let me know what you think, or if you have any feedback on the idea, as soon as you can via my talk page.
