Krantor was a Greek man who lived during the 5th century BCE.

Biography[edit | edit source]

During the Peloponnesian War, Krantor was one of the individuals who travelled to the Port of Kreusis to attend the yearly-held poet festival to catch a glimpse of the poet Praxilla. At one point, he was sought out by the misthios Kassandra in search of Orchimedes' whereabouts. Having met Orchimedes at the festival for the past four years, Krantor told Kassandra what he knew, suggesting that she travel to the Temple of Athena Itonia, where a group of bandits operated in.[1]

Sometime later, he was among the crowd listening to Praxilla as she recited her famous poem alongside Kassandra.[2]
