The Iapetos

The Iapetos was a pirate trireme haunting the gulf west of the Triple Peninsula of Chalkidike in Makedonia with lesser pirate vessels during the 5th century BCE.

During the Peloponnesian War, the Adrestia, commanded by the Spartan misthios Kassandra and captained by Barnabas, engaged the Iapetos and his companions in battle, and sank it. Kassandra claimed the sail and finery of Iapetos for her own.[1]
