Erigone was the daugther of Ikarios in Greek myth.
One day, Erigone and her father welcomed Dionysos into their home. During his stay, the god showed his hosts how to cultivate grapes and turn them into wine. Some time later, Ikarios gave some wine to a few shepherds who, unused to feeling drunk, thought that he had poisoned them and killed him in response. Stricken with grief, Erigone hung herself from the branches of the tree that stood where her father was buried.[1]
