―Description of the Elk of Bloody Peaks[src]
The Elk of Bloody Peaks

The Elk of Bloody Peaks (Runic: ᚱᛅᚢᚦᛏᚢᛦᛁ ᚱᛅᚢᚦᚠᛁᛅᛚᛅ) was a legendary albino elk that lived in northern Rygjafylke. An enormous stag, this legendary animal was the only one of its existence in the area, excluding the general presence of the typical deer.

History[edit | edit source]

In the 870s, the Viking Eivor Varinsdottir travelled around the region of Rygjafylke after escaping the custody of Kjotve the Cruel's Wolf Clan soldiers.[1] Along her journey in Rygjafylke, Eivor looked around the area of Elgrfors, west of Fornburg, and came across a dead body and note, which stated that a "great elk" had caused the victim's fatal wounds. Eivor came across the great creature at an icy waterfall above the dead body. Upon entering its domain, Eivor startled the elk, which let out a roar before it began attacking the warrior. After a lengthy battle, Eivor killed the creature and collected its head as her prize.[2]

Behind the scenes[edit | edit source]

Regardless what time of day or night Eivor fights the creature, the weather will immediately change to a downpour of snow, decreasing visibility and thereby somewhat camouflaging the elk.

Elk such as this one are no longer native to Scandinavia, having gone extinct in the area around 2000 years before the game takes places. Reindeer and moose (called elk in Europe) would be the largest Cervidae in the region at the time.
