Västerås is a city in central Sweden on the shore of Lake Mälaren.

History

In October 2016,[1] the former Abstergo Industries employee Isaiah—having severed his ties to both the Instruments of the First Will and the Templars—sent his agent Cole to the city to find the whereabouts of the final prong of the Trident of Eden. Inside the headquarters of the bottled spring water company Dolkkälla, Cole ascertained that the prong was kept on the museum grounds and reported the information to her boss.[2]

Eighteen hours later, hot on Isaiah's trail and eager to get the Trident prong first, a group of teenagers who were all involved in an Ascendance Event at the Aerie entered the country. Owen Meyers, Natalya Aliyev, Grace Collins, and the Assassin Griffin flew into Västerås via the local airport using fake IDs, passports, and commercial tickets procured by their temporary Templar ally Victoria Bibeau.[3]

After landing, Griffin rented an SUV for the group and drove to a hardware store for shovels. They then drove onward to the city's countryside. Getting to the forest and eventually the Dolkkälla themselves, after they learned where the prong was they waited until evening to grab it. Griffin infiltrated the facility alone, but as Abstergo helicopters appeared, gunshots erupted, signaling trouble. Griffin, pursued by agents, raced towards the springhouse. Realizing he was trapped, Owen sprung to action racing to his aide with only a shovel, leaving Grace and Natalya behind.[4]

Grace, Owen, and Griffin fought off Abstergo agents in a desperate struggle. Regrouping with Natalya, the group tried to help Griffin, who urged them to leave him in light of a severe injury and handed Grace the prong. Despite Owen's objections, they fled, and Griffin succumbed to his injuries in a stream. At first evading pursuit, they were soon captured by Abstergo agents led by Isiah, who took the dagger from Grace announced his plans to reinitiate the Ragnarök cycle.[5] Sean Molloy, in a bulletproof self-driving SUV named "Poindexter", came up the road to their rescue. Narrowly escaping Isaiah, the four teenagers made their way back to the airport and traveled back to the Aerie in the United States to complete the Ascendance Event and defeat Isaiah.[6]
