Odysseus was a legendary Greek king of Ithaka and the hero of Homer's epic poem, the Odyssey.[1] The husband of Penelope, he is well renowned as the hero who helped end the Trojan War.
As King of Ithaka, Odysseus owned a palace on the island, which he left to his son's supervision after setting out for Troy. It would not be until twenty years later when he would finally return to the island to be reunited with his family. Odessa claims to be a decendant of his.[2]
