Kephisos
Kephisos was a river-god in Greek mythology, personified as a man with bull horns. He is the father of the nymph Lalaia, and according to Ovid, also of the mythical hunter Narcissus.
Legacy
In ancient Greece, numerous locations within the Peloponnese were connected with him. In Phokis, the village of Lalaia was built near a spring dedicated to him. The spring gave birth to the Kephisos River which ran from Phokis to Boeotia and into the Lake Kopais.[1]
Also in Korinthia, Kephisos had a sanctuary dedicated to him. However by the Peloponnesian War, the sanctuary had fallen into decay and became a ruin.[1]
