Kephisos
Kephisos is a river-god in Greek mythology, personified as a man with bull horns. He is the father of the nymph Lalaia, and according to Ovid, also of the mythical hunter Narcissus.
During the 5th century BCE numerous locations within the Peloponnese were connected with him.
- In Phokis, the city of Lalaia was built near a spring dedicated to him. The spring gave birth to the Kephisos River which ran from Phokis to Boeotia and into the Lake Kopais.[1]
- In Korinthia, the Kephisos' Sanctuary Ruins were all that remained of a sanctuary dedicated to him by the Peloponnesian War.[1]
