The Abandoned Farm was a ruined farm in the north of the AlUla Oasis. In the 860s, while visiting al-Ula, the Alamut Hidden One Basim ibn Ishaq arrived at the location in response to a merchant's contract seeking help in delivering a heavy chest of valuables. Inside, he found an injured civilian, who revealed that the merchant was an undercover bandit that lured victims to the farm before before sedating and delivering them to his fellow robbers for ransom.[1] Recovering a clue to one of the robbers' hidden caches on the way out,[2] Basim returned to the false merchant and killed him for his duplicity.[1]
