The Austrian Rite of the Templar Order is the rite of the Templar Order that oversees operations in Austria.
The Austrian Rite was assisted during the War of the Austrian Succession by Haytham Kenway, who assassinated an Austrian prince to protect the interests of the Templars[1] and later aided the British Army as a member of Edward Braddock's Coldstreams Guard[2] at the Siege of Bergen op Zoom in 1747.[1]
During the French Revolution, the Austrian Rite supported Chrétien Lafrenière's moderate faction of the Parisian Rite against François-Thomas Germain and his extremists. Their aid was short-lived, however, following Lafrenière's murder by the French Assassin Arno Dorian which inadvertently broke the moderate Templars' movement.[3]
