Varius

Varius was an American Assassin active in New York City during the American Civil War. Like his father before him, Varius was the only Assassin operating in the city, the Mentor having decided that a lone undercover agent was the more efficient way to thwart the Templar Order's plans.

In 1863, as tensions were on the rise, Varius was instructed to steal a Dagger of Eden hidden in the Aztec Club and deliver it to General Ulysses S. Grant. At first, Varius succesfully recovered the Piece of Eden, but was later hunted by Cudgel Cormac, who seriously injured him and nearly got hold of the artifact. However, thanks to Varius' new recruit, the gifted Eliza, the dagger managed to reach General Grant.

• Equipment and Skills:
• Master Assassin: He was both a highly skilled Master Assassin. He learned and developed a vast array of skills, such as picking pockets, blending into crowds, armed and unarmed combat, alternative or multiple weapon attacks, stealth and public assassination techniques, free-running and long-range combat. 
  • Peak Human Conditioning: Since he has picked up all of Altair, Ezio, and Connor's physical abilities, he is also capable of performing every physical feat that all of them can perform without effort.t.It should be noted that all three previous Master Assassins had all the same skills all of which are mentioned above.   • Superior Strength: He was several times stronger than most of the people being able to at the very least lift up his own body weight consistently as he raced across rooftops. 
  • Superior Mobility: His reflexes, agility, and speed are also more potent, being able to easily counter and defeat hordes of opponents. He was able to kill many of them before they could even see him coming to them, as he moves with such great speed and agility.
  • Superior Stamina: He can even fight an entire army without showing any signs of fatigue.
  • Superior Durability: He also has a great deal of durability as he was able to land on his feet, after falling from several stories, without any signs of struggle or lack of comfort. He was even capable of surviving being stabbed deep in the stomach by a deadly poisoned blade. Connor withstood explosions, bullets, harsh beatings, and shrapnel in his abdomen and continued to fight.Like the few peak-bodied Assassins born before him, Connor had far greater durability and endurance than the average man. He could survive building-destroying explosions without suffering any injury and heal from it later on, and even when seriously injured, he was capable of fighting head-to-head with his own father and even gain the upper hand for some time, and his sense of combat never faltered, always managing to point out weak spots in said situation.
  • Superior Metabolism: His metabolism is also superior, as he recovered from being stabbed in the stomach by a sharp blade dipped in deadly poison within several moments. This has also allowed him to retain his inhuman physical prowess in his advanced age as well.
    • ​​​​​​​Master Martial Artist: Varius was trained to kill Templars and fight against even the best of the best Templars. He was even able to match Cudgel Cormac when the two of them came to blows with each other over one of the prongs of the Trident of Eden.
      • Gadgetry: He has access to a vast set of tools, weapons & equipment at his disposal, the main weapon being his Hidden Blade. Varius usually carried: a Hidden Blade, a dozen throwing knives, a pistol, brass knuckles, and a set of lockpicks.
      • Expert Marksmanship: He is also an incredible marksman, capable of using throwing knives, bows, firearms or using long ranged weapons with peak proficiency.
      • Expert Spy: He is well adept in blending in his surroundings as well as sneaking around heavily guarded places. He would usually blend in with dense crowds and mimic their activities. He is extremely skilled in espionage, stealth, infiltration, disguise, theivery, and eavesdropping.
      • Assassinations: His primary objective is to use the Hidden Blade to assassinate his targets.
      • Expert Acrobat: Like any Master Assassin, he is a remarkable free-runner, parkour master & mountaineering expert. These abilities combined with his seemingly superhuman strength & speed, made his acrobatic prowess far more profound than all the other Assassins, before and after him.
      • Master Swordsmanship: He is equally deadly with a blade, able to use a multitude of countering, blocking, slashing, bashing, and parrying techniques. His abilities with a sword are extremely dangerous and could allow him to combat legions of enemies by himself.
