Tartaros, also spelled Tartarus, is the dungeon of torment and suffering in Greek mythology. Situated deep with the Underworld, it was where Zeus imprisoned the Titans, including his own father Kronos, following their overthrow by the Olympians.
History
Mythology
Tartaros was also the place where Typhon was imprisoned after his failed attempt to overthrow Zeus.[1]
Upon returning to the plagued Athens during the Peloponnesian War the Spartan misthios Kassandra likened the city's state to that of Tartaros.[2]
Stimulation
In a stimulation created by the Isu Aletheia, was a prison within the Underworld, ruled by Hades.[3]
Trivia
