Merti was an Egyptian smuggler who operated out of Thebes during the reign of Cleopatra. She was an associate of Aya, having owed her favors sometime prior to 38 BCE.
History
In 38 BCE, Aya, now known as Amunet, sent a letter and parcel to Bayek instructing her to give to Merti outside Luxor, near her shop. She told Bayek what seemed to be a brief summary of the curse and how it began, and advised him to check the black market for clues. Before leaving the city, she also advised him to speak to Isidora, the God's Wife of Amun at Karnak should he have any further enquiries.[1]
