The Kretan Bull was a legendary bull which inhabited the region of Messara in Crete, Greece during the 5th century BCE.
Sometime between 431 and 422 BCE, the Spartan misthios, Kassandra, ran into the creature and hunted it on the request of Daphnae, the leader of the Daughters of Artemis. Kassandra subsequently looted its pelt and gave it to Daphnae in Phokis.[1]
