Doreios was a priest of Asklepios working at the Sanctuary of Asklepios in Argolis, Greece during the 5th century BCE.

Biography

During the Peloponnesian War, Doreios was tasked as the caretaker of the sacred snakes. He was meant to keep them in their tholos.[1]

However, the snakes escaped and were drawn into the bathhouse of the Sanctuary by its warmth. While there, the snakes inadvertently caused the death of a patient, and this resulted in another priest, Pylenor, tasking the Spartan misthios Kassandra to get rid of the snakes.[1]

Trivia

  • If the player chooses to kill the snakes, Doreios makes an appearance, bemoaning the loss of his 'babies'.
